Chiguacousy Park Greenhouses in Bramton ON

Retrofitting the five Glass Greenhouses, including the 20 ft high Atrium cathethral greenhouse at Chiguacousy Park in Brampton ON was quite a challenge. Peter from Holley Electric of Brampton was in charge of retrofitting this project and he was able to retrofit the vent motors installed on top of the 20 foot Atrium greenhouse. They also installed new vent motor gearboxes in several of the glass greenhouses to allow automatic control tempertaure and humidity via their newly installed climate computer system. The Climate Manager(Tm) controls each one of the 5 greenhouses indipendenly for Heating, Cooling, Shading and Lighting. The system also has capability for Fertigation and Irrigation management based on time, solar conditions and soil moisture conditions, but was not implemented with this first phase of the project.

Each control circuit is wired for computer or manual control with custom programs to control, Heating valves, Vent motors, Louvers, cooling fans shading and lighting based on time of Day/Night setpoints and temperature and humidity settings. The program is influnced by outside weather conditions to optimize the climate inside the greenhouse throughout the various seasons of the year.

The Climate Manager(Tm) hardware platform includes a Weather Station installed on top of the service building and transmitts data to the main Automation Computer installed inside the service building. Weather data such as outside temperature, wind speed and wind direction, rain, and solar radiation conditions are transmitted every few seconds to the main control program where it makes decisions on adjusting and controlling the climate inside the greenhouse.

All digital and analouge module are all plug in modules and are optically isolated for reliability and trouble free performance. As a matter of fact they are so reliable that we offer a lifetime warranty on these modules.

The system is accessed via Windows XP Professional or Windows 7 Platform with Ethernet (LAN) and Internet (WAN)communications. It can be remotely accessed via Internet from any remote laptop or desktop computer using Remote Destop or VPN programs. It can also be accessed via your Blackberry or I-Phone or Any smart phone with a web browser. www.climatecontrol.com

Welcome to our First Post!

With the help of our new friends at Numantis Technology Inc. We have re-created our website to be a little more, well WEB 2.0 and we figured it was time to start with this whole social media universe thing. I love the idea of automation and after working very hard on a farm doing manual labor for 30+ years planting tomatoes, I really do enjoy what technology can do. Believe me we still work incredibly hard, but most efforts are so other farmers don't have too!

Let us know what you think about the website and the design.....I will be posting our news and updates here.
